Child abduction has become a trend in our beloved country, each and every day a child is reported missing. One is lucky to find their child or missing family member alive at times.
The world has turned into something that one would not understand. Children get raped, molested and killed.
On Friday, September 7, a girl child between the ages of nine and thirteen was found by a passerby at Pennyville Park. The girl was wearing her school uniform.
The unidentified man saw that the child was wounded and then took her to Noordgesig clinic and later was declared deceased by the doctor.
The police have been waiting for people to identify the body ever since the incident took place. On Monday 10 the family went to Diepkloof Mortuary to identify the body.
Constable Monica Hangwani confirmed that indeed the incident did happen and was reported to the police. She said the were various people who came to claim the body but it was already declared positive for the first family that was there to identify it.
Hangwani said they don’t have information on what happened to the child but as the police, they are pleading with anyone with information to come and report at Orlando Police Station so that they can make an arrest.
She added that they are still waiting for the postmortem results to see the cause of the death. An investigation into the case has been launched.
