Inside Eldo’s Fashion Week

This fashion show was the first but it's definitely not the last as Michael added that there will be a fashion show for Spring-Summer 2019.

It was all lights, camera’s, and fashion at the Eldo’s Fashion Week (EFW) at the Don Mateman Hall in Eldorado Park on September 4.

This first of its kind event came together when the Eldorado Park Arts & Jazz Festival partnered with Delano Michael from SYNC Model Management PTY LTD and the EFW team. The EFW team consisted of a dynamic group of young directors, designers and creatives from every social platform.

“The event is focused on highlighting the extent to which Southern African talent, especially within the Coloured community, can conjure and thus allure the public at large to invest in their talent and flexible creative ability.

“We are constantly identifying new things about ourselves and this is implemented in our work; the more you use creativity the more you have of it – it is never-ending,” said Michael.

Guests were welcomed with a glass of wine, they were entertained by guest artists and then had the experience of being the first to see the latest creations of the local designers.

There were three fashion designers namely: Alexander Akinnola, Varity Oliphant and Georgene Steele. Andrew Jacobs and Chris Demas showcased their hair extravaganza.

According to Oliphant who was one of the fashion designers, the theme of the fashion show was ‘Genesis’ as in the beginning of it all. The designers all showcased their designs for Autumn-Winter 2019 collections. Michael was very excited to see the turnout of supporters and fashionista’s from in and the community.

“Through its ups and downs, I feel that the evening was such a success. As long as fashion and art were showcased, people have come together to celebrate Eldo’s and its fashion, I am happy,” Michael said.
