Help Nokukhanya Shezi find her sister

Families may drift apart over the years due to a number of reasons, but where do you even begin looking for someone you haven’t seen in 10, 20 years?

It’s even harder to start searching when you don’t even have a picture of the person you are looking for.

Nokukhanya Shezi from KwaZulu-Natal, currently staying in Durban but originally from a small village called Bulwer says that she has been searching for her sister, whose name is Lungelo Shezi but normally uses the name Nontobeko.

“My sister stayed with my late mother, whose name was Muhle Emmelda Shezi, I just don’t know where they stayed, however, going through my mother’s stuff, I found my mother’s Identity Document (ID) which she made in 2006.

“I hoped the address she used on her ID might be the address where they stayed. The address is 765 Slovo Park Nancefield Kliptown,” said Shezi.

Shezi says that she is not sure about her sister’s age but she knows that she is in her early 20s.

“Mom got sick and passed away in 2008 and then my family went to fetch her body but came back without my sister, one of my mother’s friends gave them contact details to call when they want her and since then they never went to look for her,” she said.

“It is alleged that Lungelo ran away from home because of her abusive stepfather,” she added.
