Melane Academy aims to be an agent of change in class

Melane Academy has created an opportunity for the learners to be recognised.

Different school learners and parents gathered at KwaLichaba for the Insane Crazy Thinkers Maths and Science Seminar held by Grade 7 learners from Sizanani Primary School to launch the Melane Academy website.

The seminar promotes learners’ abilities and different cognitive skills that they have learned from the class. The main aim of the seminar was to showcase the learner’s work that came up with ideas to create the Mall, TT motors car that uses solar power and the scientific train that doesn’t use a railway.

Melane Academy has created an opportunity for the learners to be recognised and get a platform to perform insanely
crazy ideas without boundaries to influence the world positivity.

It aims to be an agent of help to learners and to close that bridge of time and help parents that don’t have time to help their kids with school work.

Grade 7 learners Thato Radebe said, “We are grateful to everyone who came to support us on this special day and we would like to thank Soweto Toyota for being supportive towards our projects, IPS printing services and KwaLichaba for providing us with a beautiful venue.”

According to Mbongeni Simelane, he has done maths and science throughout his primary school life but he never understood why he was doing it and how it will benefit him in the future.

“We are aiming to do beyond any educational policy without harming anyone. I always teach my learners not to focus too much on their knowledge but follow their dreams and imagination. When you do according to your imagination you are unlimited but knowledge alone can go from point A to point B only, as the greatest scientist Albert Einstein once said.

“I have created this organisation with the intention to give learners an opportunity to turn their imagination into reality,” added Simelane.

Melane Academy website is a platform for all learners to interact, post maths and science online questions, free math videos, mathematics guidelines, and maths tips. Learners will be able to access information about examinations guidelines, career guidance and free educational videos mostly conducted by Simelane.
