From employee to self-employed

Local entrepreneur is washing away unemployment.

For many of us it is difficult to let go of what we are used to doing to sustain ourselves but one of the most rewarding act of being an entrepreneur is taking that first step. Lindelane Moteane has done this with a smile.
After having spent his whole adult life working to stay afloat, Moteane has opened a successful car wash that is less than a year old but is already turning profit and creating a few jobs.
Calling it the London Carwash, the team is based in the heart of Meadowlands where they have access to a large market of people coming in and out of Meadowlands.
Moteane started his formal career as a fuel attendant for Sasol in 2011 and lasted in his job for 3 years, but left the job feeling like what he used to make while employed was never enough and that there is still more that he is meant to do in life.

He went on searching for a better job that would suit him but unfortunately was unable to find any job that would at least pay him more than he used to make in his previous job.
“One of the reasons why I decided to leave my job is the honest fact that I was working very hard and making very little money for my time and effort and although it was difficult to stop searching, I knew that if I were to go back to being an employee, Wouldn’t be at peace with myself.
“After some time of being unemployed and with my needs piling up,

I decided to be brave and make use of an opportunity I had been pondering on for some weeks.
“Once I took the brave decision to start somewhere with nothing, the rest was history and surprisingly, business is really booming” said Moteane.
