Eskom embarks on a public safety project to save lives

Electricity Safety Month - August 2018.

Eskom is observing the National Electricity Safety Week this August. The observation will an intensified awareness and educational drive that Eskom normally embarks upon in the interest of the safety of the public.

Innocent lives are lost and many others changed for the worst as a result of unnecessary contact with electricity due to illegal connections and other unsafe use of electricity.

Unfortunately, children often fall victim to such illicit acts despite having no part in those.

Please join Eskom, government departments, and state-owned entities to share your interest in improving community safety and to establish a working partnership in saving lives.

The power supply entity was recently at Tumelo Primary School in Meadowlands Zone 3, Bapedi Hall, Thembelihle Primary in Orlando East and at Nomzamo Park for the safety educational project.

Eskom would like to urge members of the public to take action and report any illegal connections or power outages to the Eskom Contact Centre 08600 37566 (24hrs) or text (SMS) your query and account number/meter number to 35328 (Elect).
