Zola Clinic health practitioners socialize with residents

Zola public health awareness.

After some time of getting both complaints and compliments on services and health issue, the Zola Community Health Centre last week hosted a public health awareness campaign at the centre.

The campaign was aimed at making sure that the community knows about the services offered at the centre and to advise the community on different ways they can take care of themselves to avoid illnesses.

Different departments from the clinic such as the dental, prenatal, physiotherapy and the HIV and TB departments had their stalls displayed at the clinic, informing the public of how their department works and the services they offer to the public.

Other than having different departments from the clinic, their campaign also included stakeholders such as the Gauteng Oral Health Services, Ke-Moja and representatives from the greater Gauteng Health Department.

In addition to stakeholders and clinic departments, learners from nearby schools were also invited to the event, adding some entertainment to the event and learning more about health matters.

“We know people come to the clinic only when they are sick, but this time we have invited the public so that they can learn more about the clinic and what we stand for.

“This was also an opportunity for health practitioners to interact with residents and talk more on specific issues relating to their profession because on regular times, it becomes difficult to interact with patients because the priority is health care and not education,” said the clinic manager Johanna Modisane.
