The Social Market consists of different businesses from around Soweto who use stalls to display and sell their products and services.

This shift in consumerism is also slowly filtering into our communities through initiatives such as the Social Market that takes place at Jabulani Mall.

The Social Market consists of different businesses from around Soweto who use stalls to display and sell their products and services.

As the Social Market is gradually gaining momentum, this month’s Social Mark featured about ten businesses ranging from media and photography, clothing, accessories and authentic art works to name a few.

One of the participants explained that the market provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to reach a larger market than they do in their confined spaces and most importantly they feel like they are getting closer to pushing the movement of selling and buying proudly South African and local goods..

The sentiment at the social market is that there is ample space and opportunity for more sales, thus both business owners and the mall alike invite the public to buy from and interact with the market and are open to suggestions on how the market can improve for more sales in next month’s edition.
