To wrap-up a successful day two, as part of the NBA Africa 2018 cares and Basketball Without Boarders (BWB) Africa, NBA Cares – the league’s global social responsibility program hosted a series of events to leave a lasting legacy.

Grace Shilenge, Lawley resident

Grace Shilenge is excited to receive her new house from NBA Cares and Habitat for Humanity South Africa. In partnership with the NBPA foundation, 250 NBA and WNBA players, coaches, legends, guests and executives volunteered to build 10 homes.

Philladelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid, helping carry bricks to construct the houses.

The NBA aims to build over 87 places to live, learn, and play in seven countries in Africa. Habitat for Humanity South Africa brings people together to provide decent shelter, improve livelihoods and reduce housing poverty for low-income families.
