SAPS lends a helping hand

Following in Madiba's footsteps.

The South African Police Service’s Jabulani branch celebrated this Mandela Month with its community as they make new friends with toddlers.

Their purpose and theme of Mandela Month was to make small changes in people’s lives with the fundamental aim of showing that they care for the community they serve.

Toddlers from Happy D organisations had the honour of being gifted with food parcels that would assist the organisation in taking care of toddlers.

In addition to taking care of children from Jabulani with their station volunteers, the police station along with the CPF members embarked on a cleaning campaign at Njongo Park in Zola.

“After doing some community patrols, we realised that there are a number of things that we can do in our community to make our different sectors better environments to work in.

“In Zola, we realised that Njonjgo park has a number of reported problems and that it hasn’t had a human touch in some time, thus we decided to conduct a cleaning campaign there.

Njongo Park isn’t the only place that was cleaned by the police, volunteers and residents, because after that the team went to clean the field of Dikwankwetla Primary in Moletsane.

More residents than people in uniform were seen at Dikwankwetla as they turned the school into a safe and clean environment for learning.
