Family wants life sentence for Mbuyisa’s killer

Justice must be served.

The man accused of killing Nomsa Hilda Mbuyisa briefly appeared at the Protea Magistrate’s Court on Thursday last week. The matter has been adjourned to August 30 to issue out the indictment document to go to high court.

As soon as the Magistrate adjourned the case, Hector Sipho Mdletshe bowed and left the courtroom and stated that he will win the case at the high court looking at the packed public gallery.

Outside court Mbuyisa’s sister, Nonhlanhla Mbuyisa said she was happy that Mdletshe remained in custody and that the case will be moved to High Court.

“We don’t want him to walk free because my mother and Nomsa’s children are not safe and we are not coping with Mbuyisa’s death. She stated that Nomsa’s children are not okay. The older one is trying to be strong for his siblings but she is not okay.

The second one just went silent after the incident, didn’t want to talk about what happened and when they tried to speak with her, she just kept quiet and the tears rolled down his face.

Carol Chauke said, “Justice must be served and we don’t want a 32-year sentence but a life sentence. The law must take its course and the killing of women must stop.”
