Power outages a major concern for Dobsonville councillor

All complaints should first be registered with Eskom on 086 003 7566 or the Eskom Zola office on 011 527 8267.

As cold fronts continue to cover every part of Mzansi, power outages remain a great concern in most townships. Ward 47 councillor Tebogo Mhlari gave residents tips to help to keep their lights on during the cold winter months.

He said, “During the winter period, many people are experiencing power outages.

“Because of this, we are urging residents to report power outages so that they are able to receive help immediately.”

She said that residents should be aware that the turnaround time for Eskom is between four to six hours.

Mhlari added that residents eligible for assistance from Eskom during power outages should be regular paying customers because non-paying customers’ complaints would not be attended to by the power supplier.

She urges people who have already registered complaints with Eskom to phone her after six hours of registering their queries on her personal phone number: 072 195 4250.

Mhlari stressed that all complaints should first be registered with Eskom on 086 003 7566 or the Eskom Zola office on 011 527 8267.

She reminded residents to pay for their services to receive a constant supply of electricity and keep their households powered at all times during this winter period.
