Complaints office to be launched in the West

Complaints office coming soon!

The Klipspruit West community have joined forces for the benefit of everyone living in the area. Dawn De Lange, who is a Ward 18 committee member, has gathered a team of people in hopes of successfully launching a complaints office for the Klipspruit West and Chiawelo communities.

“We decided that a complaints office is much-needed in our area. We thought that opening an office where people could come and lodge their complaints would greatly benefit the community and take strain away from them,” said De Lange.

“Residents bombard our phones with complaints every day, that’s what sparked the idea,” she added.

De Lange, and her team of sub-ward committee members, which include pastor Patterson Meree, Zuleika Ahmanto, Jerome Jacobs, Shantel Wilson, Nadia Davids, Monty Van Heerden and Giyani Baloyi, have been working together to make sure the office is ready by mid-August, “We are cleaning and preparing the office ourselves.

“We have painted the office walls and we have started placing mats on the floor. We have received office furniture from Rodney de Kock and pastor Gregory Damons from the KOEC centre in Klipspruit has sponsored us with burglar gates for our office.

“Aunty Pretty allowed us to utilise the space at the family centre, we are so grateful for their willingness to assist,” said De Lange.

The team said that the office is not limited and will accept any kind of complaints; be it environmental, domestic, or even just to report load shedding or traffic lights that aren’t working.

“We will ensure that each and every complaint received will be escalated to the relevant department,” said Jerome Jacobs.

The office is still in need of a sponsor for a sliding door and will be based at the Klipspruit Family Centre. The launch date for the office is still to be announced.
