Protea Glen SAPS arrested three suspects next to COPESSA Park in Protea Glen extension 11 (Community-based Prevention and Empowerment Strategies in South Africa) for possession of marijuana last week.
The male suspects aged 21, 32 and 35 as the police were patrolling the area conducting crime prevention duties when they spotted the alleged suspects sitting at the park according to Protea Glen SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng.
The suspects appeared at Protea Magistrates Court on charges of possession of marijuana last Monday. In a similar incident, police arrested three men between the ages of 23 and 25 years for possession of dagga in Protea Glen extension 11, Green Village and Doornkop.

Police crime prevention unit members were patrolling the area, they conducted a stop and search operation which resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old man in Doornkop who was found in possession of four paper packets containing marijuana.
Another 24-year-old man was arrested in Green Village and was found in possession of a plastic bag containing marijuana. The 25-year-old suspect was arrested in Protea Glen in possession of six paper packets containing marijuana.
The suspects all appeared at Protea Magistrates Court last week on charges of possession of marijuana.
