Dobsie church preserving Madiba’s legacy

According to the church pastor, Eddie Nxumalo, they have elected a local non-governmental organisation, Imbali Enhle because of the positive role they play in the community.


The Fountain of Abundance Life Community Church reached out to the needy last Saturday when the congregation handed over items of clothing, groceries and other necessities to those in need.

“This is part of honouring Nelson Mandela Day and other political leaders’ role in the struggle,” said Nxumalo.

The church also had a soup kitchen for senior citizens and the children who attended the event.
The centre is renowned in the community for playing an active role in catering to the needs of the HIV/Aids in- and out-patients.

Patrick Moore, who founded the centre, said they have 13 patients who are staying at the centre and 133 of the patients visiting the centre daily.
“The clothes and grocery we received will help to reduce the pressure on the centre,” he said.

He urged people to extend a helping hand to people living with HIV\Aids which he believes would remind them that they deserve to be loved as well.

Moore applauded all NGO’s and churches who participated in making the event a success.
Women Empowerment Entrepreneurship Programme founder, Melody Dzingai said the initiative was part of celebrating 67 minute of Nelson Mandela’s role in improving lives of the poor.
“We have identified 30 women who we handed groceries to.
“The pack included cooking flour, maize meal, cocking oil and other basic necessities.
We hope this contribution will go a long way in improving their lives and we urge everyone to take part in this initiative,” said Dzingai.
