Lufuno ‘Jus Funo’ Mokwebo released his debut single last Friday from his upcoming extended play (EP) which is set to drop in a month.
The single, titled, ‘Yebo Baba (Breakthrough)’, is a deeply personal single for the Protea Glen DJ and house music producer. He says the single was inspired by his late mother who influenced his spirituality.
“I dedicate this song to my mother, I think she has opened a lot of doors for me,” Jus Funo said.
Jus Funo’s doors have indeed been opened as the DJ recently opened a record label, Gladness M Records, and signed a distribution deal Africori Digital Music Solutions for his upcoming EP titled ‘Kuzohlangana’. The EP will feature four tracks and have two features.

“The EP is actually complete and we’ll drop it in the next month. I titled it, kuzohlangana which means ‘it will come together’ because everything is coming together so why not?” Jus Funo explained.
House music enthusiasts can access the single on all major digital platforms. Jus Funo hopes to partner with other musicians and help them grow in their own musical journeys in future as he believes the road travelled alone by a musician is a lonely one.
“We need to explore the dynamic nature of the music industry; the future of record labels in the world has changed so it also affects business relationships in the industry. I think it’s important to rather form partnerships with artists rather than management relationships,” he said.
The DJ lists internationally acclaimed DJ Black Coffee and his mother as his biggest inspirations. His mother recently passed away and before her passing offered her support for his music career which has become the driving force for his need to succeed.
