CPF member shot and killed outside his Eldorado park home

Community bids farewell to a fallen hero.

The evening of June 26 was a heartbreaking night for the Eldorado Park community as they were forced to bid farewell to a man considered a hero by many.

Shane Isaacs, a member of the Eldorado Park CPF was shot and killed outside his home in Eldorado Park Proper, locally referred to as ‘Old Eldos’.

According to Eldorado Park Local Drug Action Committee chairperson, Cheryl Pillay, Isaacs was sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle which parked outside his house.

She said, “He waited for his partner to get something in the house and was shot through the window of the car. Gunshots were heard and when his partner and family rushed out, it was too late. He succumbed to the injuries sustained as a result of the shooting.”

Pillay said in a statement that Isaacs was one of the most active members of the CPF and always went beyond the line of duty, “He never said no when it came to assisting his community and even did work outside of Eldorado Park.

“He was always ready to serve no matter the time of day. I did not know on Tuesday afternoon our coffee break after looking for the kidnapped kids would be our last laughs together. I lost a son,” said Pillay.

CPF members and Eldorado Park residents have sent messages of condolences to the Isaacs family and are unanimous in the sentiment that the community has lost a true hero.

Isaacs was laid to rest yesterday afternoon. The funeral proceeded from the fallen hero’s home and proceeded to the Avalon Cemetery where he was laid to rest.

The Eldorado Park police have been unavailable for comment, however, Pillay confirmed that the suspects have not yet been found. A memorial for the fallen hero will be held at the Don Mateman Hall next Thursday.
