Fathers unite for strength

"Fathers are often sad and neglected."

Fathers were urged to unite during a Father’s Day Celebration held in their honour in Diepkloof, because as the Councillor for Ward 27, Jerry Magalefa put it, “Fathers face many troubles and they are often over looked by society.”

Fathers gladly pose with framed pictures of themselves to celebrate Father’s Day.

This celebration of Father’s Day is the brainchild of Jerry Joseph Peete. He came up with the idea after he realised how many men today are not as morally strong as the men of the past.

Kenneth Mpetha in purple hat was delighted to be celebrated as a dad.

Peete was in high spirits and even spoke about the fact that he aims to help men obliterate anger inside of them so that they can lead by example, even to their grandchildren.

Peete whose strength and determination has amazed Matshidiso Sibisi who said, “Our men have fallen and have been weakened. They are weakened by anger and irresponsibility.”

Ayliff Matsemala has been an available father.

Sibisi testified about Peete’s undying spirit, how even though he is old, his spirit is forever young.

Jerry Peete has a reputation of an undying spirit.

Sibisi Said, “Mkhulu Peete amazed me back when he was diagnosed with diabetes and lost his sight as a result, he never stayed absent from working out with the other men from men’s forum, he made it to the gym daily, blind.”

Jerry Peete has lived  a life filled with triumphs and lessons. Listen here while he shares one of those lessons with Urban readers:
