VIDEO: Biggest Youth Expo Provides Young Minds with real work Experience

#GautengYouthExpo: Bringing opportunities closer to the youth.

The Gauteng Youth Expo is not just another ordinary talk shop on career guidance, it gives young people an opportunity to test what they want to do when they complete Grade 12, through live career demonstrations.

With their on-site jewellery design and production, the Imfundiso Skills Development shed insight on jewellery production as a career, while the National Youth Development Agency hosted an empowering session with unemployed youth on its services including IDC Youth Fund, the NYDA Grant Programme, Entrepreneurship Development and more.

Reflecting on the Legacy of Mama Albertina Sisulu, Sisulu’s grandchild, MaNtsiki Sisulu took part in an engaging session – Young Women’s Dialogue, which covered self-management, empowerment and entrepreneurship. While young men spoke on issues affecting them relating to gender-based violence, bullying and how to be responsible young adults.

The Live App Festival, gave young people exposure on app development and coding and how it can be used as entrepreneurial opportunities.



The search for the best up and coming DJ is well underway, as young people compete in the Tshepo 1Million Y-FM DJ Search playoffs. The winner of the search will play at the YFM LYFE event on June 16 at the Tshepo 1Million Village, Nasrec at 12 pm.

The programme for today includes the premiere of Shades of Change, directed by Veteran Actor, Mr Jerry Mofokeng, Live App Festival, Tshepo 1Million Y-FM DJ Search playoffs, Teenage Pregnancy Summit, Culinary Graduation, Google Digital Village, Township Economy Dialogue Hall 7.
