VIDEO: Nomsa Hilda Mbuyisa laid to rest
Family and friends say their goodbyes to Nomsa.
Nomsa Hilda Mbuyisa was laid to rest at Olifantsvlei Cemetery yesterday [June 9]. Mbuyisa is survived by three sons.
She died on May 30, allegedly in the hands of her ex-boyfriend who in police custody.
A family friend, Sibongile Thusi described Nomsa as a loving, caring, bubbly and joyful person. She feared God and whenever we sought advice from her, she always said: “let’s pray about it”.
“We used to call her crazy because she was the craziest among us. Despite everything that happened in her life, she was able to smile and laugh and always there to guide us.”
Lebogang Mkhinze from Queen of Purpose said, “Women in South Africa need to rise up. It’s not the time now for us to be silent. I’m saying women of South Africa, you are the queens and don’t allow anyone to treat you like a punching bag.
“Women! hold the knife where it hurts and no more hashtags. This is a war that wants us to be on our knees. Enough is enough,” said Mkhinze.
