Soweto music lovers get set for one night with Ntsika Rise

"I am mostly known as an afro-pop and afro-soul artist but those close to me will tell you I do music."

Protea Glen’s Ntsikelelo ‘Ntsika Rise’ Colossa will be hosting a one man show at the Soweto Theatre on June 9. The multi-talented Colossa is a singer, actor, motivational speaker, MC and traditional practitioner and promises to deliver a night of music that fans will never forget.

His fan base can expect to hear new and old material from the international musician. “I have new material ready for the show and I’ll also be performing people’s old favourites but most importantly, people must not think they know the Ntsika Rise brand,” said Colossa.

The versatile musician will be offering gospel, afrosoul and traditional music sets. “I am mostly known as an afro-pop and afro-soul artist but those close to me will tell you I do music,” he said. Some of the highlights of the show include well-known poet Ntsiki Mazwai as the MC, local music acts Essence of Music, Nohla, Mamli, Thapelo R and Trail Music.

“This is a night people will never forget, they need to be there and experience the growth of Ntsika Rise as a brand. People will have fun and they will want more,” he said. The show will be closed by Protea Glen’s very own DJ Master Peace who will entertain patrons with dance music.

The idea for One Night with Ntsika Rise came following a successful One Night with Ntsika Rise and Friends last year. Colossa says his only mission is to promote his music on his own platform as he feels there are not enough platforms for artists. The international artist has performed with local acts like Lira, Zonke and Amanda Black. He has also performed on stages in China where international acts like Michael Jackson and Chris Brown have graced the stage.
