‘A healthy child is a happy child,’ says Diepkloof CPF and SAPS

June is International Children’s Month and children from a few schools in Diepkloof were taught about staying healthy.

Audrey Morakile, a school safety coordinator from the Johannesburg District, said that their overall goal is to make sure that the kids are safe and that they stay away from drugs and substance abuse.

Morakile said, “We want the young ones to know their rights and never to be taken for granted, but today we are all about their health. We want them to know that cleanliness leads to health and health is their right.”

The Children’s Day campaign was attended by primary school learners from various schools from Diepkloof like Ipolokeng and Boipakiso Primary Schools. The Diepkloof Police Station’s brigadier Jerry Malesela and the Community Policing Forum provided a safe atmosphere for the children.

Modiegi Rapoo from Ipolokeng emphasised the point that children should be supported and loved.
