Friends, family and police delegates were present at the funeral.

Police officials, friends, family members are gathered today to say their last goodbyes to Brigadier Malefetsane Jonas Mofokeng. The funeral is currently underway at the Grace Bible Church in Pimville.

He was shot in Protea South at his residence in full view of his 14-year-old daughter on May 16.

Police have since launched an investigation.

Minister of Police Bheki Cele made a keynote address indicating that those who have committed this crime will pay. Cele said, “We are no longer promising 72 hours but give us fewer hours and we will find you. Who do you think you are?
