Soweto youth proud of their cultures

May 25 is Africa Day.

Yesterday was Africa Day [May 25] and children in Soweto were thrilled to have the opportunity to represent their cultures at the Diepkloof Library.

Some children dressed in Zulu apparels while others wore Tsonga and Venda traditional clothes like Junior Baloyi who is Tsonga and, was displaying it for everyone to see.

Siyabonga Jolica Gxila from Orlando West celebrated Africa Day too with the happy kids. He is from a company called Nalibali. He said he wants to promote Africa Day and promote reading because he believes reading is enjoyable.

“I’m here to make the children get that reading can be delightful. We can have fun while reading,” said Gxila.
