The aim is to be self-sufficient and not too reliant on government

Rapper Round Charity Walkers hosted a fun walk from Rockerfella in Mofolo. The purpose of the walk is to promote healthy living and raise funds for the group. All participants donate R10, while the executive donates R100 per member.

The group also collect clothing, shoes, food parcels like baked beans, tinned fish and maize meal. All staples which go a long way in keeping families fed this winter. During the month, they identify families in need and donate the donated goods in the hope of easing their plight.

Executive member, Lebogang Kau said, “The little we provide goes a long way in making a difference in our community.”

Round Rapper Maimela, who founded the group said, “Our aim is to usher in change in the community. One of the families we identified have a little girl who they are unable to pay creche fees for and we assist the family.”

“Our dream is to open a school for disabled children. Most disabled people in our community are unemployed and the families are battling financially. We want to move away from being too reliant on government and assist where we can to create job opportunities and handing over wheelchairs to those in need, “said Maimela.
