‘There’s a graduation ceremony at the finish line’

It's the Graduation season again.

Mo-Afrika Ithlokomele held their Information Technology and Communication (ITC) graduation ceremony on April 20 at the Pimville Community Centre (PCC).

The main purpose of the ceremony was to issue the certificates to the graduates and honouring them for their excellent work. The graduation was based on computer classes that specialise in End User Computing and Information Technology (IT) essentials.

The classes are situated at the Mo-Afrika Ithlokomele offices in Pimville and Tladi; they are between 8 am till 2 pm.

Since Mo-Afrika Ithlokomele is a non-profit organisation and is geared at empowering the youth, the classes are for free and a matric certificate is required, however, people who are over 35 years are required to pay a certain amount of fees. The course runs for three months.

The main reason for these ITC classes is for the organisation to assist the youth in being fully aware of their potential at the highest level, more especially for the youth out of school.

The organisation also wants the unemployed youth to focus on a positive lifestyle so that they can fully participate in the growth of the country’s economy and to also refrain from bad behaviour such as substance abuse.

Jennifer Mdluli, the students’ facilitator of these ITC classes was issuing the certificates to the graduates.

“Education is an essential key to success, as a person you just need to focus and don’t give up easily, hard work pays off and it has magnificent rewards,” said Mdluli.

Applications for this year are open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, at the Mo-Afrika Ithlokomele referral section.
