House Wives League gives bedridden Molemohi hope

The House Wives League promised to keep supporting Molemohi and praying for her.

Mathato Molemohi says that she is beginning to think that her situation is hopeless as she had applied for an RDP house over a decade ago and there’s still no luck for her.

Previously, the Department of Housing had explained that she is a special case and that special cases RDP houses applications are so many, but last year, when her daughter Nthabiseng Molemohi was doing follow-ups to check how far they are with the process of her mother’s RDP application, she alleged that she was told that her mother does not appear on the system and she needed to re-apply. She said that she did as she was told but until today nothing is being said or done.

Having to live her disturbing life, of using adult diapers and not having a proper shelter, she still remains strong as the community is really supportive of her and her family.

The African House Wives League, Pimville branch members had previously donated toiletries to Molemohi and on April 9, they visited her again to donate groceries to her and her family.

“We felt the need to donate these groceries to her because in her situation she needs our support to keep her strong. Mathato is one of our projects this year, we are going to do everything in our powers to make sure that she receives help,” said Gladys Dlamini, House Wives League Pimville branch member.

Molemohi said that other departments such as the Health Department have been consistent in assisting her.

“The Houses Wives League has been very supportive and I really appreciate their efforts. When it comes to my health, I would be unfair if I complained about them as they are really doing their part in making sure that my health is not at risk,” she said.

“It is just the Department of Housing and the relevant people who are supposed to be assisting me with this issue that are dragging their feet.

“I am not requesting a mansion I just need a shelter, is it too much to ask? I am really starting to lose hope,” Molemohi said.
