Born to rock the stage

Smith participates in various dance activities such as dance competitions, dance workshops and company events.

Quanita Androlene Smith is a talented dancer from Eldorado Park who dances for Urban Jam and gives dance classes in a studio at the Oxygym in Eldorado Park, Extension Six at Crystal Mall.

She has been dancing for a very long time and even sports a tattoo which reads, ‘I was born to dance’. If that is not dedication to a career, then what is?

Smith said, “I am an energetic, confident and passionate dancer who possesses a sense of rhythm, a feeling for music, and a creative ability to express themselves through movement. I have good health and excellent physical stamina as well as an ability to work as part of a team.”

At the age of seven, she found her dancing feet at a dance school called DanceCor.



She said, “I dance and trained at DanceCor for eight years and completed my Grade Eight in ballet and contemporary as well as my Grade Five in hip-hop.”

Her dance career continued when she went on to join the Urban Jam Dance Company, “I continued my training in dance and for the two years that I have been training and dancing with them, I’ve have grown and excelled in my dancing,” she said.
