The Afternoon Express adds fury friends to their team

Dogs are said to be a man's best friend.

Dogs are said to be a man’s best friend and many have sayings for cats such as ‘a cat is like a weird roommate’ or they say ‘cats are just too cool to be a human’s best friend’.

Whatever the sayings are, there will always be people who prefer either one of these fury friends. The Afternoon Express, a lifestyle show on SABC 3 had adopted two precious creatures from the Sidewalk Specials shelter and they needed the public to assist them with names for these little creatures.

The show adopted a cute little puppy and a feisty kitten. After many suggestions from the viewers, it was announced on March 15, that the cuddly puppy will be named ‘Donut’ and the kitten was named ‘Baxter’.

The Afternoon Express had also partnered with brands PEDIGREE® and WHISKAS® to raise awareness of pet adoption and care.

Every Wednesday between 4.30 pm – 5.30 pm the team will be broadcasting a session where PEDIGREE® AND WHISKAS® will share professional tips on helping you to prepare with new arrivals, how to make your home puppy and kitten-proof, and they will also launch the Kitten Kollege which is an interactive online programme to grow with your new pet and prepare them for the world.

The two fluffy friends are both on social media and viewers can follow their steps as they journey into a new world, you can follow them on Instagram pages at (@the.adventures.of.donut) and (@the.adventures.of.baxter).
