You’re invited to the Sisonke Arts and Culture Dance Festival

Open call dance groups.

Qalamanje Art Projects will be hosting their very first annual event and would like to extend an invitation to fellow aspiring artists.

The organisation specialises in the creative arts sector with the ultimate aim, of empowering young people through teaching them a skill in creative arts.

The organisation is interested in dance groups that explore the Gumboots dance, Sbhujwa dance, Kwasa dance, Sipantsula dance, Kofifi dance, Hip-hop dance and any other formal dancing.

The upcoming event will be titled Sisonke Arts and Culture Dance Festival that celebrates local arts and will also feature a dance competition.

The event will take place at Pace Commercial Secondary School in Jabulani on May 12th starting at 9 in the morning.

“This is a unique dance festival and we are hopeful that it would be extended countrywide in the future. The dance festival is going to play a vital role in identifying talent at a young age and for us that is important because its easier for an individual to grow with discipline and love for the arts if they start at a young age.
