Funds mismanagement investigated at a primary school in Naledi

Parents demand transparency.

The parents of Ikemeleng Primary School learners were up in arms at the school in a parents meeting.

Parents are holding the schooling staff accountable for mismanagement of school funds over the 2017-2018 financial period.

Parents are questioning what happened to an amount that is close to R70 000 that was spent but parents don’t understand how.

In response to these allegations, the Department of Education said, “We can confirm that the District Finance visited the school on 19 March 2018 to conduct preliminary investigations into the allegations of mismanagement of funds.

“The outcome of the investigations will be communicated once the investigations are concluded, said Steve Mabona, communication at the DOE.”
