#NotInMyCommunity – still no justice for Junaid Kirsten

Junaid Kirsten is a young man who was found murdered near Slovo Park last year.

Violent crimes and senseless murders have been ongoing in the Eldos community as if it were a trend. Many families are left unsettled when justice is not brought for their families who have lost their loved ones in violent crimes or a senseless murder.

Junaid Kirsten is a young man who was found murdered near Slovo Park last year. The family is still not sure as to what the cause of death was but, however, his murder led to a mob justice case where the suspect died.

In memory of Junaid, the family and those from a special support group hosted a candlelight service for Junaid on Saturday, March 17 in Eldorado Park, Extension One.

Ferosa Trimmel said, “Today we having Junaid’s one year anniversary, so we’re having a candlelight service and the balloons going up. The reason for doing this is because of the way that I had lost my son, and still, nothing has come of his death.

“We are still waiting for reports from the police. I have joined a group called #NotInMyCommunity,” this is a group that was created to help families like the Trimmel family find closure.

“We are all mother’s that have joined this group to find out how our sons were murdered. We’re actually having this day to just remember Junaid for who he was and all the people here that remember him.

“I’m actually happy that they came here to us today and I would like to thank them for coming. I hope that somehow we can find closure in this whole thing,” said Trimmel.
