Miss Matric 2018 was a banger

Miss Matric 2018.

Miss Matric 2018! For all who were there, they can attest to the fact that this year the crowd was amazing. The love and support shown by the friends and family were lovely.

All families shouted their delegates’ numbers as the competition proceeded. Among the judges were pageant winners from Westbury, Eldorado Park and the first princess of the Mrs Africa Continental, Diana Robertson-Tsotsetsi as well Dereleen James, drug activist and founder of the Yellow Ribbon Foundation.

Matriculants from all over the Greater Eldorado Park participated in the pageant and a total number of 23 matriculants were part of the Miss Matric.

Compared to last year’s Miss Matric at Koposong (Union Road, Eldorado Park Extension Seven), which no longer exists, this year at the Don Mateman Civic Centre (Eldorado Park Extension Five) the crowd was a lot bigger and the competition was a lot tighter.

The ladies competed in different categories such as flashy wear, swimwear and evening gowns were part of the fashion challenge and then the matriculants had to give a little speech as to why they think they deserved to be Miss Matric 2018.

Some delegates were overwhelmed by the achievement that it left them in tears. More specifically Devenay Miles could not hold back the tears as she cried when she was crowned the first princess.

Leunette Francis was crowned this year’s second princess, and the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The winner of the Miss Matric 2018 goes to Darnelle Jacobs.
