Mama Letta Mbulu’s home to be marked as a Heritage Site

Honouring legends.

Known to many for her melodic voice that made her tour in different countries back in the days.

Mama Letta Mbulu received heartwarming news that is worthy to be celebrated, as her home will be marked as a heritage site.

Mbulu said she feels so humbled and honoured that her home will be counted amongst the heritage sites in Soweto.

She is happy that people from her community want to honour her. She extended her gratitude to the community that raised her to be who she is.



The initiator of the project Tshenolo Makhele said looking at the story of Mbulu he saw that this historical information must be natured amongst the artists and sport heritage sites around Orlando.

On the September 24, the will be a big event to unveil the blue plug at mama Letta’s home and the will be a lecture on the African Diaspora. These will serve as an empowerment of heritage sites in the area.

Makhele said this is done in term of Heritage resources act 23 of 1999 and section 34 that deals with the preservation of national estate.

This event is done by the Johannesburg municipality and art and culture heritage.
