‘Boys as young as 16-years-old break-into houses in Eldos’

According to constable Fezeka Khobo, a spokesperson of the Eldos SAPS, the Eldorado Park SAPS had arrested two suspects. The ages of the suspects are 27-years-old and 29-years-old respectively.

Khobo said, “It is alleged that the two suspects robbed the complainant of his Samsung cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash with a firearm whilst the complainant was passing via a shortcut path.”

She then added that the suspects took the complainants belongings on Friday, March 9, at about 6 pm.



Khobo said, “Fortunately enough the Eldos SAPS were patrolling the area, and after the victim notified our members. The suspects were caught and arrested. Both suspects are detained at Eldorado Park cells. A Samsung cell-phone to the value of R 1 400 was recovered from the suspects.”

More cases of theft have risen and more people get caught for their crimes. It seems like justice does pay after all. According to Khobo, on Monday, March 12 at about 11.30 am a 32-year-old suspect was arrested for theft.

She said, “It is alleged that the suspect was jumping into a truck and stole a machine worth R 4 500. The police were assisted by a member of the community to catch the suspect. Suspect detained at Eldorado Park cells.”



The police have stated that a 45-year -old suspect was arrested on Monday, March 12 for malicious damage to property. Khobo said that the allegations were that the suspect damaged the property of the complainant whilst the complainant was trying to mediate the suspect from fighting with his wife.

She further said that a 29-year-old male was arrested for pointing with a firearm at a victim at about 4 am on March 12

Khobo said, “It is alleged that the complainant refused to open the door for the suspect. The suspect then opened the window forcefully and gained entry, then pointed the victim with a firearm.”



You know things are only getting worse in Eldos when two 16-year-old boys get arrested for burglary. According to Khobo, two 16-year-old suspects had been arrested for burglary at a business premise on early Monday morning at about 5.30 am, on March 12.

She said, “The complainant alleges that she left the classroom with windows and doors locked, with her handbag inside. On her arrival, the complainant noticed that two windows were now opened.

“When the complainant opened the classroom, she realised that her LG 63 cell phone was gone as well as her purse. Witnesses came forward with information on who broke in and stole the complainant’s cell phone as well as the purse.”

The two suspects were arrested immediately and detained at Eldorado Park cells. They were then later released under their parents’ supervision and will appear in court soon.
