‘Zodwa Wabantu is a disgrace to humanity’

Socialite and showstopper Zodwa Wabantu gets backlash from MEC Sizakele Nkosi–Malobane.

Gauteng Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi–Malobane has described Zodwa Wabantu as a ‘disgrace’ to future generations. Zodwa Wabantu, real name Zodwa Rebbeca Libram, is known for her sexy dance moves at social events.

“In her presence, one cannot help but be in awe. She has made herself famous for being a pantyless queen, a Savannah fanatic and for bagging R35,000 an hour for appearances at events,” said Nkosi–Malobane.

The MEC goes on to accuse Zodwa Wabantu of misleading young women. This comes after a video of Zodwa Wabantu encouraging women to make money using their bodies surfaced on social media.

Not only has the socialite come under fire from the MEC but she has also been widely criticised on social media as well with some advising her to focus on dancing and leave the talking to motivational speakers.

Nkosi–Malobane said, “Zodwa’s advice to our girls to use their bodies for sexual favours in return for luxurious lives is damaging, unacceptable and should not be tolerated. It is about time we do away with the so-called “celebrities” who position themselves as role models but only to destroy the future of our generation.”

According to Nkosi–Malobane, Zodwa’s behaviour works against the Gauteng government’s programme of building a community for young women with integrity while fighting women and child abuse, hence it is strongly condemned.

“We have recently witnessed the brutal murder and rapes of young women in Gauteng. Parents of these young girls are still devastated and hurt; many South African citizens continue to label men as trash,” said Nkosi–Malobane.

“Gauteng City Region is in a business of moulding future leaders with sound minds and morals. People of Zodwa’s calibre are a disgrace to humanity. No parent can ever be proud of her child for not wearing underwear in public for money.

“Zodwa’s mannerism on stage is harmful and her messages don’t display liberation or independence, instead it exposes our young girls to perpetrators or rapists within our society.”

The MEC does not believe that the country’s state of unemployment and economy should be reason enough for women to adopt Zodwa’s lifestyle.

“Meanwhile, many believe that Zodwa is a hustler and should not be judged for the lifestyle she chooses to live, considering the state of unemployment in our country.

“There are many young and old women in our country that come from devastating backgrounds and have done exceptionally well with their clothes on,” said Nkosi–Malobane.
