Thug’s zozo goes up in a ball of flames

Residents take law into their own hands.

Residents of Mlamulankunzi in Orlando East said enough is enough of all the crimes that take place in their area almost every day, where people get mugged on their way to/from work and school.

They resorted to gathering each other and formed a group that seeks to address crime-related cries. 20 patrollers were appointed in the areas that are affected and households were requested to contribute a fee to help in buying them uniform.

Residents, met on January 23, to discuss a way forward where it was announced that the group was not influenced by any political party or organisation.

The same day, the angry mob marched to an old school called Emthonjeni where it was believed that thugs use this abandoned school as a hideout.

Upon arrival, the owners of the shacks suddenly ran away when they saw the mob approaching the place.

A stripped car.

The residents found computers, televisions, laptops, sofa’s, a stripped car and a firearm. The shack was torched.

Community leader Phindile Senye said she is not condoning such behaviour but the police could have prevented such from taking place had they acted fast.
