‘The secret to their success is learning to prioritise’

Prudence leaves its mark.

Prudence secondary School has once again made news as they have performed better than other schools in their circuit. The top three achieving learners at Prudence Secondary have given a worthy challenge to fellow peers, especially with the boys.

The top three achieving learners at the school were all female, revealing that the secret to their success is learning to prioritise.

With a total of five distinctions, all three learners earned themselves a bachelor on their matric results with one or more distinctions each.

“Dating to what the school was previously known for, its an honour for the school to be able to produce bachelors results, let alone pass the majority of learners.

“Our pass rate has been among the lowest in our cluster but the hard work we have been putting in is finally starting to show now,” said Maureen Phaka.

Lesego Morake is the highest achiever of the three learners and she says the most important thing in her routine is keeping a balance between doing what is needed and doing what you want.

“I won’t says I was a book freak but one thing for sure is that when it was time for school, I focused on nothing else so I would shut the world out, switch off my phone and dedicate myself to studying.

“For me, my social life was at school when we are out of class and when I am home I make it a point that I relax first and unwind and once I’m relaxed and in a good space, I would then start studying,” said Morake.

The three learners will be receiving a fully paid scholarship for tertiary studies commencing this year.

“I love travelling and I’m always curious about going to different places so I did my matric with the intent and passion to do a qualification in travel and tourism,” said Reitumetse Mosola, one of the top three achievers.
