Bheki Mlangeni Hospital closed off 2017 in style

Bheki Mlangeni meets the people.

Bheki Mlangeni Hospital closed off 2017 in style with the institution’s very first Open Day since the hospital’s operation started in April 2014.

Under the idea of getting closer with the people they serve, the main purpose of encouraging the community at large to visit the hospital is for everyone to see what the hospital is like, feel the atmosphere, and meet the staff and management. Ultimately, the visit is aimed at helping everyone to have an objective perception of the institution.

“I know about individuals who looked down on the hospital until they landed inside and appreciated the facts and not rumours. Of course, Motswana says: “e kgotjwa e le maoto mane”, which explains that yes a mistake may happen even in a well-balanced situation.

“The hospital’s event is, therefore, one of the activities we have embarked on to establish and maintain our relationship with various stakeholders of this hospital.

Bheki Mlangeni is a District Hospital, which is the lowest level of hospital care as determined by the Health Care Act of the country.

“We, therefore, appeal to all of us to consider that the proper channels of using the services in the hospital should not be overlooked. If all of us will follow this referral system accordingly, we will eliminate long queuing at hospitals.

It is proper to start at the clinic so that one can be referred to either a Community Health Centre (CHC) like Zola, Chiawelo and Lillian Ngoyi or to a hospital. The decision to be referred to any level of healthcare is determined by the kind of illness and/or its severity.
