Soweto cancer patients treated to Garden of Lights outing

Young Soweto residents and cancer patients who was among a group of youngster treated to a festive season outing to Emperors Palace's Garden of Light.

In cooperation with Cupcakes of HOPE, Emperors Palace treated a group of young cancer patients and their families to a festive season outing to the enchanting Garden of Lights at the  5-Star D’oreale Grande Hotel. Among the special guests was Protea resident, Amohelang Mokoena (7) who is pictured below before taking a stroll through the gardens. During their visit the young guests were treated to dinner with their families, met Santa and his helper, received Christmas goodies and enjoyed rides at the funfair adjacent to the garden.

Eight-year-old Soweto resident, Junior Tebogo (8) happily poses with one of the characters in the enchanting Garden of Lights at Emperors Palace’s 5-Star D’oreale Grande Hotel.  Junior was one of the special young cancer patients invited to the Palace of Dreams for a festive season treat, in cooperation with Cupcakes for Hope, a Non-Profit Company that aims to raise awareness and funds for families in need of medical assistance through baking cupcakes. Apart from seeing the magical Garden of Lights the youngsters were treated to dinner with their families, met Santa and his helper, received Christmas goodies and enjoyed rides at the funfair adjacent to the garden.

Tebogo was all smiles while receiving some Christmas goodies from Santa’s helper, Joan Blaney and Santa, Chris Potgieter, both of Benoni.

Apart from experiencing the sights and sounds of the garden the visitors also got treated to dinner, received some Christmas goodies from Santa and got to enjoy some rides at the funfair adjacent to garden. Pictured on one of these rides is Alicia Barra (9) of Eldorado Park, a family member of an invited cancer patient.
