Clinix and Kiddies Hope Day Care team-up to raise awareness about health issues

Day care director hoping for more from their partnership with Clinix Tshepo Themba Private Hospital.

The Clinix Tshepo Themba Private Hospital partnered Kiddies Hope Day Care Centre in an endeavour to create a health awareness in various ailments through plays.

Speaking to Clinix Tshepo Themba Private Hospital Soweto Marketing Manager Zinhle Mthembu said, the initiative is part of their Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

“As a hospital, we have a health calendar we are following. Learners from Kiddies Hope Day Care Centre performs various plays depending on the health awareness we will be promoting in that particular month.

“In the month of February, we are promoting cancer awareness, in November it is Diabetes Month and in December it is 16 Days of Activism Against Abuse On Children and Women,” said Mthembu.

She said the play often perform by these learners educates people about diseases management and treatment.

Mthembu said their partnership encourages day care centre learners that they can also pursue a career in nursing or medical doctors’ profession in the near future.

“Currently the play they (Kiddies Day Care Centre learners) are performing is about 16 Days of Activism Against Violence on Women and Children.


Kiddies Hope Day Care Centre actors Vuyo Matomela, Zinhle Ndlovu, Rosisang Kgopane and Masego Motsumi.

“The information these actors received through these plays, they will utilise it later in life,” said Mthembu.

Kiddies Hope Day Care Centre director, Xolani Sithole, said the partnership with the private hospital is life-changing.

“Our young learners will grow up leading a healthy lifestyle because of the early health information they received from this partnership.

“They will also impart the knowledge gained to their respective family members and the society, in general, will benefit as well,” concluded Sithole.
