We know very well that to buy a television, you ought to have a TV licence and you also need to pay your outstanding balance in order to purchase the next set.

Forgetting to renew your TV licence means a penalty of 10% per month to a maximum of 100% per annum. So, paying by the annual debit order is the most convenient way to ensure that this never happens.
