You are invited to a walkathon.

In an endeavour to tackle some of the mindboggling social illnesses, Young Voice Academy (YOVA) together with Thabang Primary School and local creches will join forces to raises awareness about rampant child abuse, domestic violence, human trafficking, drugs and crime prevention.

YOVA founder Rapelang Semente said, “This is our first walkathon we will be hosting as the organisation.

“The event will play a vital role with the fundraising for Thabang Primary School and acknowledgement of YOVA’s contributions within the community.”

Carol Kodise head of Community Development Two (COMDEV TWO) in Ward 47 acknowledged that they have challenges of child abuse in the ward.

“Our children are often being abused and raped. Residents should start speaking up about such issues and the walkathon is a step in a right direction.

“Abuse waste children’s future and people must be active hence we support this initiative. People should bear in mind that, every child is every parent’s responsibility,” added Kodise.
