We are still awaiting confirmation by police regarding the alleged shooting of a young girl in Westbury.
According to reports, the girl was shot this afternoon between Cnr Kretzmar and Florida Streets.
Community leader, Shahiem Ismail said that the latest shooting victim was rushed to Helen Joseph Hospital for treatment.
“The Gauteng government is really not showing any interest in the shootings and killings in Westbury.
“We had endless meetings with the office of Minister Fikile Mbalula and had announced that the army would be deployed in Westbury.
“We are still waiting. In the meantime, our community is at risk 24hrs a day. Are we not part of this South Africa? I’m tired, fed up with this government for not tending to our people’s needs,” said Ismail.
