Let us not grow weary from doing well

National Children’s Day 2017

National Children’s Day is a day when children are reminded that they are children and that they need to behave as children and play.

They need to know that their community loves them and wants what is best for them. It is imperative for children to have great memories of growing up in this community which has so many social ills.

The Greater Eldorado Park community is invited to join us on National Children’s Day, November 4 from 8 am to a day on which the community will take the time to appreciate their children.

The community will assemble at the shopping centre in Extension Eight, then march to the Don Mateman Civic Centre in Extension Five where the celebrations will take place.

There will be a word of encouragement to the children. After this, the children will be divided into groups. These groups will do different activities and rotate throughout the day.

Every 20 children will have a teacher or parent who will take care of them throughout the day. At lunchtime, every group will have something to eat. After lunch children are welcome to participate in singing, dancing poetry, and so much more.

There will be jumping castles, horse rides, games, crafts and pure enjoyment.

Everyone loves presents, but your presence will be greater than a present that would be forgotten in a year. Your presence will always be remembered.

“Thank you for being part of the transformation in Eldorado Park. This one act of kindness could just turn around the life of a potential molester, potential murderer, and potential addict. Let us not grow weary of doing well,” said Leonie Petersen.
