Khanyisile Vilakazi is the founder of the one-year-old Calling Production aimed at unearthing aspiring talented local artists from Braamfischerville.
Her journey as an actress started a long time ago and paved her way to feature in several theatre productions.
As if that was not enough, Vilakazi featured in several television productions ranging from Garedumele comedy on SABC 2 and Etv’s Kasi stories.
“In the Garedumeli comedy, I played the character of Fini, Ratanag’s girlfriend.
“In the short film called Body Mind and Soul screened on ETV’s Kasi Stories, I played the character of Moipone. I’m excited about playing both characters on television,” said Vilakazi.
She is excited to impart her acting experience to the local aspiring artists, dancers and singers.
It is because of such undying passion for acting, she established Calling Production last year.
Despite the Calling Production being on in its infant stage, it has already embarked on a mission to unearth aspiring local artists.
“The Calling Production has already created employment opportunities for about 20 local artists.
“We are working in collaboration with companies who want to promote their products.
“Our artists work as dancers and singers for various brands. We also have actors featured in our theatre production called You are an Eagle,” said Vilakazi.
The Calling Production specialises in art ranging from actors, dancers and singers.
She is excited about enormous untapped talent in Braamfischerville and hopes to unearth more stars from the dusty streets of Braamfischerville.
