‘We want justice for Adele!’

Case remanded to November 3

Yesterday marked six months since the shooting death of Adele Fisher-Peters who was gunned down by an armed man who attempted to hijack a car in Extension Seven.

The area was plagued by a number of gun-related deaths in the weeks leading up to that fateful Sunday when a bullet tragically cut short her life.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing and has appeared at the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on October 3.

Fisher-Peters’ death has been roundly condemned by Eldorado Park residents who were at the court proceedings.

At the time of her murder, the country was still recovering from the shockwaves of a number of killings which claimed the lives of several women in Johannesburg.

Residents showed their support for the family by attending the proceedings with their placards decrying the attacks on women following the spate of killings.

The case has been remanded and the man being held for the attack will appear in court again on November 3.

The family remain tight-lipped about the court case and have not provided any comment.
