Shaynice Talla laid to rest

May her soul rest in peace

Today the Talla family mourns the passing of four-year-old Shaynice as they lay her to rest.

The tragic death has affected the family and mourners had their eyes full of tears and hearts filled with sorrow.

“God het ‘n mooi roos uit die tuin uit kom pluk, maar sy sal altyd met ons wees,” “It’s so sad but we know that you’re safe in God’s hands,” said a grieving family friend.

Translated: “God picked a beautiful rose from His garden, but she will always remain with us.”

The Eldorado Park community wore green ribbons and scarves in support of the bereaved family and as a sign of remembrance for baby Talla.

“We’re so broken, it hurts knowing that someone can hurt such an innocent young girl,” said family friend, Sonja Bosch.

Those attending the funeral said that the community should stand together and go back to the days where they used to say ‘Jou kind is my kind’ because it’s through their anger at each other that their children are no longer safe because people are turning a blind eye to the safety and well-being of our children.

According to reports, the man apprehended for Shaynice’s tragic death has been released from police custody as the family awaits the outcome of the post-mortem.
