‘Today’s youth, tomorrow’s future’

The main aim is to empower our youth.

The community of Eldorado Park and its leisure site have been neglected for far too long. That is until the Local Development and Economic Association (LDECA) acted to return the light which had been dimmed in the community.

LDECA is offering a helping hand in housing and land affairs, education and training, safety and security, labour, trade and industry, health and social development, military veterans, women and children with disabilities, traditional affairs and loads more issues which require attention.

According to a statement released by the LDECA spokesperson, Golden Miles Bhudu, “LDECA want to demonstrate that there is a lot of energy and enthusiasm from communities including men, women, the elderly, youth and people living with disabilities in and around the Greater Eldorado Park area to build a better and prosperous future for all and the generations to come.”

LDECA was officially launched as an operational organisation on September 16, although they have been involved in the cleaning up of all leisure spots in and around the Greater Eldorado Park.

Keith Duarte said, “We are launching LDECA as the new kid on the block but prior to us launching LDECA we conducted numerous projects with regards to cleaning the Jungle, cleaning the stadiums, etc.

We’ve been involved with working closely with our councillors and all our stakeholders in the community.”

“The main aim is to empower our youth. Within these structures (LDECA) you will find, myself as an example, I will use one of the youths, whom I will groom into following in my footsteps.”

Duarte explained that the purpose of this is to ensure that once he feels fit to retire, he can do so comfortably, knowing that there is someone that he has groomed into taking over the specific department that he was held accountable for.

Duarte’s statement clearly coincides with LDECA’s slogan, ‘Today’s youth, tomorrow’s future’.
