It’s true when they said art can be inherited from your family genes, Tebogo Ramogase well known as Cheenos is an artist with many talents.

Ramogase is a rap musician, trend setter, an actor and owns his own production company called Mpanzania Records.

He explained why he is called Cheenos by his friends, supporters and how he got to be named, “while growing up the school I used to attend to’s uniform was khaki pants so used to wear Brown Chino Pants.

“So my teachers used to identify me by my pants and then everyone started calling by Cheenos,” said Ramogase.

Ramogase’s love for music began at an early stage but only took it seriously in 2009 when he started recording singles.

“I guess music ran in the family my father Mike Ramogase was a jazz musician and my grandfather David used to play drums for Jonas Gwangwa.

“I released a mix tape and few singles, recently I just released a single called ayoba.

“Ayoba is a victory song that is dedicated to people in the hood who have been through a lot of challenges and they conquered.”

Ramogase was amongst the twenty rappers from Soweto who worked with Kay-E to release a song called straight outer Soweto.

“It was a privilege that I was chosen to represent Orlando,” said Ramogase.

He added that he is an artist before everything. He used to draw things and then he studied graphic design.

“I started designing album covers for different artists and I am also into acting where I am doing short stories that are played in Soweto tv,” added Ramogase.

Ramogase is the owner and founder of the brand called Mpanzania which is his way of honoring the founder of Soweto James Mpanza.
“This is my way of preserving the legacy of Orlando through clothes and its growing.

“I used to design tracksuits and matric jackets for different schools with my mother, but I had my own brand after I finished school and I registered my company.

“I don’t have a shop but I have a warehouse where all the magic is done and I am an entertainer,” said Ramogase.
